Persimmon Homes Wessex are one of the largest users of artificial stone products in the UK. Building mainly in the picturesque Cotswolds, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire virtually all of their homes reflect the traditional use of locally quarried natural stone.

Until recently this has been limited to built in dressings such as cills, heads and string courses. Embellishments to doors have been confined to the use of white plastic for surrounds and canopies.

However the development by GRCUK of a range of affordable surrounds and canopies in high quality Premix Process GRC have allowed these to be replaced by a material more in keeping with the main walling materials. These items are a virtual match for the cast stone being used on the development but allow fitting to be completed after shell completion.

This was the first use of such components by the regional office of this large national house builder but the successful application of the material has ensured it is now being used on many similar developments.
